Super Mario Galaxy is a platform game in 3-D. Once again good old Mario is out to save Princess Peach from Bowser. You play Mario and you must cross the galaxy the save the Princess. You will encounter strange worlds and even stranger creatures.
Though he is in space, Mario is not short on moves. In fact being in outer space gives Mario some new amazing moves. There will be a lot of shaking, pointing and tilting with the Wii remote.
Most of Super Mario Galaxy is set in outer space. There are many levels in this game that take you to some weird areas of the universe. Mario can launch himself from planet to planet in search of item or foes.
Mario has a whole line up of transformations. He can be Ice Mario, Fire Mario, Bee Mario, Flying Mario and other cool transformations. Mario’s transformations are pretty spectacular. My favorite is the Bee suit which lets Mario fly for a short period of time. Just as in all Mario games, you need to collect stars. There are 121 stars to find. These are scattered over 6 different areas of the game. His abilities, as always… are awesome. Mario has his trademark jump, he can do flips and there are ground pound moves as well, that can break certain objects.
There are flower power-ups as well. You’ll remember the fire flower as well as the ice flower. There is a spring mushroom the lets Mario jump high in the air… as well as many other power-ups.
The game also has a co-operative feature, which is good. No one likes to wait for their turn. Especially, in a Mario game. Overall this game is great looking at plays very well. Hardcore Mario fans will love this. Check out the video below for a look at game play.
